Ramadan Mubarak to all!
I am pleased to inform you that the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center Executive Committee & Imam have adopted the FIQH COUNCIL OF NORTH AMERICA'S DECISION ON ASTRONOMICAL CALCULATIONS FOR ISLAMIC DATES .Image
The Fiqh Council of North America has 18 scholars and all of them have studied Islam in Credible Institutions and they are Leaders, Scholars, and/or Imams in their communities.

This year we have the added good news to report that the Fiqh Council of North America and the European Fiqh Council agreed to start and finish Ramadan together! So both sides of the Atlantic will start fasting and celebrate Eid together Inshallah.
According to the calculation criteria for determining the Islamic Lunar dates adopted by the Fiqh Council of North America, following are the dates for Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr for the year 1428.
Ramadan 1428 - First   day of Fasting will be Thursday - September 13, 2007 Eid Al-Fitr 1428 - First of Shawwal Saturday - October 13, 2006 (Details of Eid Prayer Location to be determined) May Allah(SWT) Accept our Fast and Good Deeds in the Month of Ramadan.
First night of Traweeh prayer will be Wenesday -   Sep 12, 2007.
1) Iqama for Isha will be at 9:10pm and Taraweeh prayer will immediately follow.
Program Highlights, Rules & Arrangements:
1. Group Iftar:
Group Iftar will be offered throughout the month of Ramadan for 600 – 1000 persons daily.  All are welcome. If you would like to sponsor Iftar, fully or partially, please contact the office. Full  sponsorship for one person for a month costs: $150. Partial sponsorship is any amount. 
2. Taraweeh Prayer and Tahajud Prayer (Night Prayer):
Isha' prayer will begin at 9:10 PM followed by Taraweeh Prayer. Also, there will be Tahajud Prayer   during the weekends (3:30 AM Saturday & Sunday mornings)and during the last ten days of Ramadan. 
Sisters Instructions:
The Sisters Lecture Hall will be used by Sisters Without any Children for praying Isha and Taraweeh. No exceptions made. Room 205 & 206 will be used by Sisters who have Children for praying Isha and Taraweeh.
All children with mothers will have to be in this room or in the children's program as follows.
· Children's Program:
a. Ages 1-3 should go to the baby-sitter in the women's section. (Room 101 & 102)
b. Ages 4-7 should register in the Qur'anic School.  Check with the school for registration. (Room 201, 202 & 203)
c. Ages 8 and up should pray Isha' and Taraweeh with their parents.
d. Recreation Center will be opened as posted on its entrance.
e. No child will be allowed roam around the Mosque without adult supervision.
f. Children under 15 who are not praying and are without adult supervision will not be allowed in the property.
Educational Program:
a. Short Talks after Salat Al-Fajr.
b. Quranic Recitation Halaqa after Fajr
c. Short Talk will be after the first four Rakaas of Taraweeh Prayer
d. Special Program during Lailatul Qadr.    
Parking:
a.  Dar Al-Hijrah parking lot: Please do your best to have a full load of passengers in your car. Parking at Dar Al Hijrah will be (HOV–3) during the three Friday Prayers and every day after 8:00 PM (for sisters and brothers).
b.  First Christian Church: The parking lot at First Christian Church will be available every night from 7:00PM to 11:00 PM .
c.  Church of Christ: The parking lot at Church of Christ will be available every night from 7:00PM to 11:00 PM except Wednesdays, Saturday and Sunday will be available from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
d.  Do not park in the neighborhood surrounding the Mosque.
e.  Park anywhere else as long as it is legal.
f.  Any illegal parking (parking contrary to posted signs) will be subject to towing at owner's expense, without notice.
Zakat Alfitr:
Your early contribution of Zakat Al-Fitr ($10.00 on behalf of every dependant of yours, plus yourself). This goes to the needy families and it will be a great help for us to distribute it early.
Itikaaf:
Masjid will be open for Itikaaf during the last 10 days of Ramadan Wa'Salam 'ALaikum wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu
