AACC 15th Annual Banquet - November 15
The American Arab Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Building Economic Bridges Banquet on November 15, 2007. Completing its fifteenth year, the AACC will celebrate its crystal anniversary banquet under the theme, "View Our World with Crystal Clarity." Keynote speaker Seymour Hersh will entertain the audience with a fresh perspective on current events and issues. Image
Dubbed "the dean of investigative reporting," Seymour Hersh is widely acknowledged as the most influential and acclaimed investigative journalist of the past forty years. His special focus is, and always has been, the abuse of power in the name of national security. He has published seven books. Hersh's journalism and publishing prizes include the Pulitzer Prize, five George Polk Awards, and more than a dozen others for investigative reporting. His groundbreaking reports include many that are landmark events in American journalism: the My Lai massacre in Vietnam, the CIA's bombing of Cambodia, Henry Kissinger's wiretapping of his staff, Israel's nuclear bomb program, the Abu Ghraib prison abuse in Iraq, and the U.S. involvement with Israel's 2006 preemptive attack on Lebanon. Most recently, Hersh's articles in the New Yorker have probed the underside of the Iraq War, the looming threat of war with Iran, and the military quagmire caused by these conflicts.
Don't miss an opportunity to share a conversation with Seymour Hersh as we look to "View Our World with Crystal Clarity." Partners of the 15th Annual Building Economic Bridges Banquet are Comerica Bank, DTE Energy, and Ford Motor Company.
