MINNEAPOLIS, Aug 29, 2008 /PRNewswire-USNewswire via COMTEX/ -- "Mezze in Minneapolis: A Taste of the Cuisine and Culture of the Arab World" will take place from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2nd at the Minneapolis Convention Center, 1301 South Second Avenue.
This event continues The Arab American Institute and Arab American Institute Foundation's 20-year tradition of introducing convention delegates from both parties to our community and our culture. More details are online at http://www.aaiusa.org/conventions.
The reception will feature tasting tables of food from a variety of Arab countries, performances of Arabic music, and displays of Arab American achievement and Arabic handcrafts courtesy of the Arab American National Museum, an event co-sponsor.
The Minneapolis Convention Center is across the street from two downtown hotels, the Hyatt and the Millenium, which are stops on the GOP Express Bus from the Xcel Center, so delegates who are not driving can use the convention bus to get there.
AAI Chairman George Salem is our master of ceremonies and we are delighted that Ray LaHood is stopping by around 10:30 to say a few words. We also expect several members of congress and ambassadors from Arab states to drop by.
