Wednesday, 20 August 2008
On Wednesday, August 27 at 3 pm, Dr. James Zogby and a number of Arab American delegates to the DNCC will discuss the role of Arab Americans in the 2008 election.  Year after year, Arab Americans have exhibited a high degree of political activity. 88.5% of the almost four million Americans of Arab descent are registered to vote, and when compared with the general population, a higher percentage of Arab Americans come out to the polls on Election Day. In addition to the economy and health care, questions dealing with the war in Iraq, the Middle East conflict and civil liberties are central to our national debate, and Arab Americans have unique perspectives to offer.
At the DNCC the most active and engaged come together to participate in the political system and join in the public debate. The briefing will also include Arab American delegates to the DNCC, who will have the opportunity to discuss their personal stories and opinions on key issues.
