Two Muslim women from Detroit are jointly suing fast-food giant McDonald's for $10 million for alleged acts of discrimination
ADC Michigan Expresses Concern About McDonald’s Case
As Plaintiffs, Toi Whitfield and Quiana Pugh, in the case against McDonalds prepare to commence suit, ADC will continue to monitor the proceedings of this sensitive matter. Last week, Attorney Nabih Ayad filed suit on behalf of the women alleging that they were discriminated against when they were asked to choose between their job and wearing the hijab.  The nature of these allegations merits serious review and investigation of the McDonald’s Corporation. An equal opportunity to employment is mandated by law, and under no circumstances should any person be deprived of this fundamental constitutional right based on their faith, race or national origin. ADC Michigan calls upon the McDonald’s Corporation to address these serious allegations and resolve this matter in an amicable manner.
