Washington D.C. - The Executive Committee of the Lebanese American Renaissance Partnership (LARP) announces its second business pilgrimage to Lebanon to hold the LARP II conference at the Phoenicia Hotel in downtown Beirut on September 12 - 13, 2008. The theme this year is Solidarity with Lebanon – Stability and Economic Well-Being. Image
The objectives of the trip are to increase communications between the Diaspora and the homeland, facilitate business opportunities between the businesses in Lebanon and their counterparts in the Diaspora and to assist the private and public sectors to foster projects that help stimulate economic growth and provide possible grants to help local governments and non-profit organizations.
It is important to note that the human link between the US and Lebanon goes back to the early 1800’s and the success of the Lebanese American community in the US is felt on all levels: social, cultural, political, economical and professional.
Several local and international dignitaries have been invited to speak at four different panels; there will be keynote speakers at the opening ceremony, the gala dinner and the two scheduled luncheons. Participation in LARP II is by invitation only.
LARP is committed to supporting the civil society and civic institutions of Lebanon; to lifting up the spirit of the Lebanese people; to assisting the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and other agencies of the United States in their efforts to promote economic growth in Lebanon; and to fostering peace, stability and growth of democratic institutions in Lebanon in an effort to enhance the sovereignty and freedom of Lebanon.
