Palestinian National Authority President Mahmoud Abbas will address the 10th annual Kahlil Gibran “Spirit of Humanity” Awards gala on Wednesday, April 23 in Washington, D.C. The deadline to purchase tickets for the gala has been extended to Wednesday, April 16. You can order tickets by clicking here.
Abbas has been President of the Palestinian National Authority since his election on January 9, 2005. He served as Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority from May 2003 until September 2003 and later became the Chairman of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) after Yasser Arafat’s death in November that same year.
Other honorees at this year’s gala include Refugees International, Reporters Without Borders, Rep. Ray LaHood of Illinois, and the Barenboim-Said Foundation. Actor Sam Waterston, Daily Star editor Rami Khouri, and Sen. John Sununu of New Hampshire will present the awards.
