What do the following people have in common: a scientist with more than 130 technology patents to his name, a vice president of a Fortune 500 technology company in charge of R&D centers around the world, a scientist with an invention that made possible ecommerce over the internet, a CEO who previous company was acquired by Qualcomm ? All of these executives are but a small sample of Arab American professionals in the technology industry today. Very few people realize that Arab American professionals have a been a cornerstone of Silicon Valley's success. Realizing the wealth of talent and success from our community, we launched the first Pan-Arab professional association focused on the technology industry and entrepreneurship and startups - TechWadi was born in Dec. 2005. Like many other professional associations, TechWadi's mission is threefold:- Provide a professional environment for all of its members to meet, network and benefit from each other's expertise - Publicize the successes and achievements of our community in the technology field - Promote entrepreneurship and the creation of technology startups within our community TechWadi achieves its mission through its main website: www.techwadi.org and through the organization of various small and large events and by enabling its members to communicate with each other through a rich database of contacts. TechWadi is also working towards creating stronger links between Arab American technology professionals and technology professionals in the Arab World. By creating these strong links, they intend to help the technology industry in the Arab World to become more competitive. TechWadi is a not for profit, non-religious, non political association that is open to anyone who supports its mission. They currently have more than 450 members and they welcome all professionals who are interested in joining .
